Mr. Hilton has been in the irrigation business for over forty ( 40 ) years, working in all phases of turf irrigation.
Initially he was with a sprinkler manufacturing company designing
irrigation systems for all over the world and then moved on to Regional
Sales manager. A major part of this position was distributors training
in design, system costing and service, as well as working and training
the contractors in installation.
He then went on to managing several turf irrigation distributors in
Colorado, Florida and Texas, as well as owning and managing a turf
distribution firm with a second operation for contracting.
The firms goals were to educate contractors in installation, system
servicing, accrete competitive bidding, as well as furnishing quality
designs and all the technical support necessary for first class
irrigation system installations
During all this time he had either designed, directed the installation,
or done the tech support for over 350 golf courses and thousands of
other projects.
While with the sprinkler manufacturing company, Mr. Hilton directed the
system engineering department, travelled throughout USA and Europe
conducting seminars in design, installation, contractor competitive
bidding and service.
His duties were also to assist with technical installation and service support on large special projects.
At that time he worked very closely with the Robert Trent Jones Sr. firm and
other golf architects in technical support of their projects
and installations.
Gayle assisted contractors in two courses in Spain, one in
Portugal and did an evaluation with renovation recommendations for the
Costa Smeralda Golf course.
Mr. Hilton takes pride in being able to design very economical plans in
both material and installation, while affording the highest quality
systems. This is accomplished via economic pipe routing and the most
efficient installation methods.
